solitary bud
a year of uncertainty —
still the cactus blooms
planted during grief
yet each spring blossoms returned
grateful to plum tree
personal touchstones
reminders in my pocket
what do you carry?
a balm for the soul
warming from the inside out
pour a cup of calm
a luminous glow
precedes the coming darkness —
heralding nightfall
flora and fauna
a symbiotic cycle
interdependance
snowy afternoon
delays al fresco dining
hope springs eternal
Christmas paradox
fragile baubles still with us
but not their humans
seated stone buddha
surrounded by Christmas
multi-cultural
the end of the day
tuning out to then tune in —
soothing cup of calm
cascading branches
with layers of soft eyelashes —
winking at the wind
tree all akimbo
apt metaphor for this year
looking for new growth
crockpot comfort food
prepares us for cold, short days —
makes the dark tasty
welcome tradition
when everything is askew —
raise a glass to hope
hidden in the summer
now exposed for all to see —
home in the branches
Year of joys and fears
giving thanks for all of it —
it is what it is
red berries emerge
as the leaves fall to the ground
season’s ornaments
stillness of water
muted colors of late fall
natural mirror
strange little creature
found in the back of a drawer
made me smile today
building together
community of fungi
find a new abode
