one year reflection —
a bit scuffed up, but stronger
many lessons learned
in search of the sun
tenacious and courageous
the bulbs push upward
women of Concord —
we are a resilient bunch
with big shoes to fill
it is what it is
haiku a day for one year
simple, not easy
it has been a year
of isolation and change
time to re-emerge
just one year ago
masks weren’t a fashion statement —
now a collection
frigid arctic blast
buds mock remnants of winter —
confident in spring
a low tide reveals
hidden landscapes of the sea
rearranged each day
pandemic present
newest granddaughter arrives
bright light in the world
Just one year ago
learned the word Covid-19 —
changed us forever
moss has awakened
bricks lined with bright green velvet
farewell to winter
snow covers the ground
spring blooms on the windowsill
juxtaposition
mimosa flower
symbolic of women’s strength
today and all days
just one year ago
springtime bulbs in my office —
have not been back yet
caught between seasons
autumn leaves encased in ice
waiting for spring thaw
wabi sabi day
beauty of imperfection
and impermanence
marveling at strength —
hearts of glass appear fragile
yet remain intact
pushing through the earth
hope appears in many forms —
trust in renewal
mortar and pestel
put to aromatic use
grinding cumin seeds
homemade chicken soup
self care for body and soul
warms inside and out
